MEASURING THE EFFECTS OF REAL EXCHANGE RATE POLICIES ON AGRICULTURE

Steven Kyle

No 271356, 1991 Annual Meeting, August 4-7, Manhattan, Kansas from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: Many macro policy models assume that changes in the real exchange rate have similar impacts on different production activities within agriculture. This paper discusses the importance of intrasectoral heterogeneity in the degree of tradability and in the characteristics of production functions in estimating effects of real exchange rate changes.
