AGRICULTURAL HOUSEHOLD MODEL WITH WAGE UNCERTAINTY: AN APPLICATION TO SUBSIDIARY POST-SOVIET AGRICULTURE

No 21527, 1999 Annual meeting, August 8-11, Nashville, TN from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: The labor supply decision under wage uncertainty is studied in the context of an agricultural household model. The recent sharp growth of post-Soviet subsidiary subsistence agriculture is consistent with the model predictions of an increase in farm labor supply in response to the fall and uncertainty in real wage.
