No 122906, 27th West Indies Agricultural Economics Conference, July 2007, Belize City, Belize from Caribbean Agro-Economic Society
Abstract:
This paper presents a review of the impact if climate change on agriculture as well as the contribution that agriculture can make to the reduction of climate change mainly by lowering the emission of green house gases (GHG). The paper also presents available evidence for temperature rise in the Caribbean sine it is argued that such evidence could help galvanize public support in the Caribbean for the policies that maybe necessary for mitigating the effects of climate change. Several mitigation strategies for Caribbean agriculture are also discussed in the paper.
