Abstract:
Information is the key to any successful enterprise and Agricultural Education is no exception. The University Library began at the same time as the University and has been providing essential information support for all the Teaching and Research programmes since then. With over 6,000 book/monograph titles and about 1700 serial titles the Agriculture collection covers all the areas of Agriculture covered by the School of Agriculture. The collection includes Caribbean material as well as information from around the world. In addition the Library provides access to databases such as CAB Abstracts and AGRICOLA, both online via the WWW and as CD ROMs. This presentation will focus on the vast Information resources provided by the Main Library, U.W.I., in the field of Agriculture. It will take the form of an oral presentation and a demonstration of some of the information sources and retrieval tools we use to satisfy the information needs of our users.
