Abstract: The paper is based on an interview survey of pigeon pea farmers in Trinidad. Its primary purpose was to investigate on behalf of the food crop breeders of the University of the West Indies, the types of pigeon pea plants preferred by farmers in Trinidad. Supplementary questions studied were (a) characteristics of farmers, (b) cropping patterns, and (c) yields and disposal of crop.
