Abstract: Success of small business requires enlightened leadership by managers consisting of establishing organizational vision and gaining commitment to the vision. Other . success characteristics include customer orientation, performance driven, cost effective, fast and flexible, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Agricultural economists need management training to teach these characteristics.
