Abstract: The development of New Generation Cooperatives (NGCs) in Minnesota and North Dakota over the last seven to ten years has raised many interesting issues and questions, three of which I will address: 1) the experience of NGCs in the prairie region of Canada; 2) the pooling inherent in most NGCs; and 3) the development process that has gone into creating the NGCs.
