Abstract: The study explores the adoption of micro irrigation, farmers’ management, and role of other stakeholders. The different phases of micro irrigation, including purchase of the equipment, installation, subsidy approval, and disbursements, are very important. The post-adoption phase is important as it helps maximize the benefits from the system. While the initial adoption phase is substantially influenced by friends, family and local networks, the post-adoption phase is dominated by the action of the dealers, company sale persons for after-sale service. The report makes a ground for redesigning micro irrigation implementation strategies for higher water productivity in a sustainable manner. I hope the findings will be useful for researchers and other readers.
