No 346055, 6th Congress, Minnesota, USA, 1986 from International Farm Management Association
Abstract:
This paper is the opening address of the President of the I.F.M.A. which welcomes the participants to the Sixth Congress and looks forward to a fruitful meeting. It goes on to define the functions and purposes of management and emphasises the similarity of managerial problems faced by farmers all over the world. It then summarises the achievements of I.F.M.A. over the last 18 years of its existence and notes with satisfaction the new developments that are taking place, particularly the formation of National Farm Management Associations in Third World countries and the start of the I.F.M.A. Journal. The paper ends by expressing the hope that farm management and managers can play a significant role in bringing about an end to world food supply problems of shortage and surplus.
