Abstract:
Farming in New Zealand is highly productive and market orientated. An integral part of the industry is a well developed farm management profession. The discipline of farm management is based firmly on the whole farm approach and involves professionals both from Government and private sectors. Increasingly Government services are being fully charged for, but with declining terms of trade for farmers their ability to pay is diminishing at a time when greater financial planning and control is needed in the industry.
