Abstract:
This paper reviews the roles, skills and training of people involved in the management of farms in the United Kingdom. An assessment is made of the type of skills that are needed by the managers of farms in order to maintain the viability of farming businesses. An account is given of the design and delivery of various types of training that have been developed by the Agricultural Training Board (ATB)to meet the requirements of a wide range of farming situations.
