The Development of Biodiesel in Europe

Abstract:
Biodiesel is made from vegetable oils and can substitute fossil diesel in both transport and heating systems. Current production of biodiesel in Europe is around 300,000 metric tons and will increase further. This paper reviews the major developments in biodiesel and the key factors for future growth.
