Abstract:
This paper analyses the issues which make the farming image important and seeks to identify some of the issues which can make up a common agenda between farmers and landowners and the urban and sub-urban public. It concludes that farmers must be more pro-active in the rural debate and that access to the countryside, certainly in a country like Britain, is a key to building better relationships.
