Abstract:
The successful implementation of business plans depends critically upon motivation: managers' ability to get people involved and committed. "Empowerment” is a feeling, or culture, to this end; it embodies direction, autonomy and support. A new approach, or "vision", has evolved in the company concerned, which is explained and discussed. Key management characteristics are listed and the importance of the team approach emphasised.
