Abstract:
Integrated technological packages were generally found more technically and economically efficient than individually adopted techniques. However, costs are more crucial for small farmers ' choice of adopted techniques than profits gained when marketing. Hence, they may prefer cost effective rather than profit maximizing techniques. As such, benefit-cost ratios criterion of choice would be more appropriate than net revenue (profit) for small producers, as more reflexive to costs magnitudes. On the other hand, training for more efficient application beside cooperation cutting down costs may encourage high technology adoption.
