Abstract:
Romanian's agriculture has an important traditional place in the economy. Its share in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew from 14% in the year 1990 to 18.1% in 1998, on the background of the more stressedfall of the economy than it was the case of the agricultural production. The agrifood policy after 1997 has proposed itself two aims: • Farmers 'financial support to be done transparently and in a non-infiationary way. • Public subsidies to be payed directly to farmers by voucher scheme an amount 25 USD per hectar. Agricultural production is decrease since 1990. The CEFTA Agreement and the goal of EU accession has determined important changes especially in the reduction of livestock production and the increase of deficit in trade balance.
