Expected Profit and Farm Characteristics

Burton, Robert O., and Ali Abderrezak

No 133733, Staff Papers from Kansas State University, Department of Agricultural Economics

Abstract: Ordinary least squares is used to test hypotheses about relationships between expected profit and farm characteristics. Results indicate that expected profit may be enhanced by increasing farm size, lease or rental of intermediate and long-term assets, using production and financial inputs efficiently, and hedging.
