Abstract:
This research paper provides a brief history of agricultural market information system in Mozambique. It describes the process of agricultural market information system establishment. In addition, the paper provides a description of the whole process of agricultural market data collection, processing and publication. The paper provides some prospects and future challenges of agricultural market information system. Finally, it discusses four alternatives scenarios that could be adopted in long term in order to ensure the improvement of market access by the small-scale farmers and promote the equity in different groups of market participants, contributing for agricultural development.
