Goal Structure of U.S. Meat Goat Producers: Is Farm Performance Consistent with the Goals?

Abstract: This study uses data from a national survey to determine the goal hierarchies of U.S. meat goat producers and the factors impacting goal structure. Profit maximization and leisure-related goals were the highest-ranked goals. Producer demographics, farm descriptors, region of production, and other factors impacted goal structure.
