The Market Effects of Low Oligosaccharide Soybeans

David Shively and Joe Parcell ()

No 162549, 2014 Annual Meeting, February 1-4, 2014, Dallas, Texas from Southern Agricultural Economics Association

Abstract: Research suggests that soybean meal derived from low-oligosaccharide (LO) soybeans could displace more expensive products in young pig and poultry diets without a loss in efficiency. This raises questions about the market effects and division of surplus throughout the soybean meal value chain. This study addresses these questions.
