CONSTRUÇÃO DE UM ÍNDICE DE DESENVOLVIMENTO RURAL – RESULTADOS PARA AS REGIÕES NORDESTE E SUL DO BRASIL

Abstract: Recentemente algumas políticas públicas foram organizadas com o intuito de dirigir recursos para agricultores familiares mais carentes e para estimular o “desenvolvimento local”, incorporando o debate de “Desenvolvimento Territorial”. No Brasil, as regiões Nordeste e Sul concentram a maioria dos agricultores familiares e é importante analisar o perfil dos municípios. Partindo de metodologia desenvolvida por Kageyama (2005), construímos um Índice de Desenvolvimento Rural e o calculamos para cada um dos municípios das regiões Sul e Nordeste do Brasil. No presente trabalho apresentamos a metodologia aplicada e os resultados encontrados, comparando os valores do IDR com os do IDH para mostrar como o primeiro capta aspectos diferenciados e é capaz de enriquecer a análise.------------------------------------Recently there have been some Public Policies of addressing resources to farmers with fewer resources and of stimulating the “local development”, incorporating the paradigm debate of Territorial Development. In Brazil the regions North-east and South concentrates the greater number of family farmers and we have to analise the local profile. On this behalf we will present a study done to calculate the “Rural Development Index” for each municipality on both regions. This index incorporates extra aspects apart from the average income, incorporating the “novo rural” discussion. This study will present the IDR’s results and will develop an analysis of correlation between the IDR and the IDH on both regions.
