Abstract:
-------------------------------------------------The meat complex is one of main components of Brazilian exportation. The objective of the research is analyze the evolution and the competitiveness of Brazilian meat complex and sub-complexes after 1990, as well the factors that could determine the Brazilian exportation performance. We used the following methodological procedures: geometric growth ratios with regression, Index Herfindahl-Hirschman and the analysis of exportations growth using “Constant-Market-Share” model, that decomposes the sources of exportations growth in agro-industrial complexes in various components: “world-wide market growth”, “guideline composition of exportation”, “exportation destination” and “competitiveness” and are capable to express the behavior and standard of the exportations in studied period. The results of model CMS allow to infer the existence of high competitiveness in the Brazilian complexes, responsible to found raised market-share in segments of period.
