SOBERANÍA ALIMENTARIA Y SEGURIDAD ALIMENTARIA: ¿CONCEPTOS COMPLEMENTARIOS?

Abstract:
En el marco de políticas dirigidas a la reducción de la desnutrición, a la erradicación del hambre y al fomento del sector rural, existen diferentes conceptualizaciones y tendencias de acuerdo a la naturaleza de sus impulsores. La Seguridad Alimentaria es uno de los términos ampliamente difundidos y avalado por Organismos Internacionales pertenecientes a Naciones Unidas. A principio de los años ´90 se desarrolla un nuevo concepto propuesto por un movimiento campesino global. Éste busca fomentar alternativas a las políticas neoliberales propias de la globalización por la que atraviesa la región. El factor común que ambos conceptos incluyen es el de Derecho a la Alimentación. ----------------------------------------------Within the framework of policies directed to the reduction of the undernourishment, to the eradication of the hunger and the promotion of the rural sector, there are different conceptualizations and tendencies according to the nature of their impellers. The Food Security is one of the terms widely spread and guaranteed by International Organisms pertaining to United Nations. By the years ´90 has been developed a new concept proposed by farmer’s social movement. This one looks for to foment alternatives to the Neoliberal policies of the globalization wide spread in the region. The common factor that both concepts include is the one of Right to Food.
