Abstract: In the article, some spatial problems in agriculture are presented on some typical cases. Agriculture is just one of the activities performed in rural areas nowadays, although it still uses a predominant part of space and has important influence on all other aspects of life and work in rural areas as well as on the cultural landscape. Besides, among all space users, agriculture is the most dependent on natural conditions and also on socioeconomic and demographic conditions. To achieve optimal and with other sectors adjusted space use, long term planning considering spatial aspects is needed also in agriculture. The needs for spatial planning in agriculture have been brought about by the new Law on Spatial Planning, according to which agriculture has to express its interests and adjust them with other sectors, and also by the process of rationalisation of agricultural production and its adjustment to resources in space, the most suitable utilization of resources and their protection, agrarian structure improvement, agricultural policy measures planning etc.
