Margins on Fluid Milk in the Duluth-Superior Marketing Area, 1947-48

Anna A. Schlenker and Eleanore J. Parker

No 309903, Marketing Research Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service, Transportation and Marketing Program

Abstract: Excerpt from the report: The study on which this report is based was undertaken to measure and compare the simple margin on single items and weighted average margins on all bottled milk items in the Duluth-Superior market over a 2-year period. It provides a basis for comparing the margin in this market with margins in other markets, and it shows the changes within the market during the period covered. Further than that, detailed information about the margins for different items, and the relative volumes sold, explains the difference between the simple and weighted average margins.
