No 312184, Marketing Research Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service, Transportation and Marketing Program
Abstract:
Excerpts from the report: This report, based upon a survey of turkey hatcheries in nine major turkey-producing States, describes the in-hatchery costs of a sample of turkey hatcheries in 1962 and the effects of economies of scale on the in-hatchery operation of efficient model hatcheries. The objective of this study is to provide in-plant efficiency and cost information on turkey hatcheries useful to hatchery managers and owners,, This is achieved by: (1) examining the costs of a sample of actual turkey hatcheries, and (2) synthesizing cost information for six model turkey hatcheries of different sizes.
