Abstract: Excerpt from the report: This report is based on information Farmer Cooperative Service collected in a nationwide study of livestock pooling. The objectives of the study were: (1) To find out the extent to which all species of livestock were being pooled in the United States and how it was being done; (2) to appraise the value of pooling in improving marketing; and (3) to offer suggestions for improving existing pooling operations and aiding other agencies in starting and operating efficient livestock pools.
