Abstract:
Machine-picked ‘Acala 1517-V’ cotton was subjected to four gin and lint cleaner combinations and two mill-cleaning levels to determine the effect of such treatments on card-room dust levels and on fiber and yarn quality. The data presented will indicate to ginners and textile mill operators those processing treatments that will contribute to lower dust levels without undue adverse effect on fiber and yarn quality.
