Abstract:
Excerpts from the report: The primary objectives of this investigation were to obtain additional information on the behavior of Florida avocados during ripening and storage and to more clearly define the effects of temperature and duration of storage on several Florida-grown varieties. Storage and ripening studies of avocados were conducted during a 7-year period—from the 1957-58 crop year through the 1963-64 crop year. Over 7,000 individual fruits from more than 30 groves were tested.
