Impact of Wheat Harvest Timeliness on Risk Efficiency of Double-Cropped Soybeans

No 232557, Staff Papers from University of Arkansas, Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness

Abstract: Two biophysical crop growth models are interfaced to simulate the performance of double-cropped wheat and soybeans over 20 weather scenarios. The impact of wheat harvest timeliness on net returns is assessed for seven alternative management strategies. Risk efficient strategies are identified for six risk intervals using generalized stochastic dominance.
