Jo Brice Wilmeth and Charles D. Bolt

No 308643, Agricultural Information Bulletins from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: Excerpt from the report Introduction: This report is one of a number of preliminary reports being issued to make available to the cotton warehouse industry some of the results of research undertaken to find ways to reduce or hold down the cost of handling cotton into, within, and out of storage. It describes improved cotton-handling methods employed or undergoing experimentation, by a number of cotton warehousemen in various sections of the Cotton Belt in their efforts to increase the efficiency of physical handling required in receiving cotton from gins or from other cotton warehouses.
