Abstract: Excerpt from the report Preface: This publication reports on the short-term economic impact of a shirt plant upon the local economy of a rural area of northern Arkansas. It describes the economy of the area at the time of the plant establishment in 1960 and examines the short-run impact of the plant through 1963.
