Abstract:
U.S. agricultural exports totaled $18.1 billion during the first 6 months of fiscal year 1983, 17 percent less than the previous year's value. U.S. agricultural imports in the first 6 months of fiscal year 1983 rose 5 percent above those of the same period last year to $8.1 billion, primarily due to increases in coffee, cocoa, meat, fruit, vegetables and beverages. Concessional agricultural exports under Government~financed programs in calendar year 1982 fell 9 percent to $1.3 billion, with declines in Public Law 480 Title I sales and Title II donations.
