Abstract:
U.S. agricultural exports rose 8 percent in 1989 to $39.9 billion, a $2.9-billion increase, but well below 1988!s $8.4-billion expansion, which was the largest in the 1980's•••• The value of imported agricultural products grew at a rate of 2 percent per year during the 1980's, well below the 13-percent annual pace of the 1970's •••Major markets for agricultural imports remained essentially the same during 1976-88.
