Abstract:
U.S. agricultural exports dropped $5 billion to $26.3 billion and 16 million tons to 110 million tons in fiscal year (FY) 1986 (October 1985-September 1986). Imports rose 6 percent to $20.9 billion in FY 1986, the third year in which import values Nominal farm prices for U.S. grains and oilseeds have have reached record highs. Exports, principally wheat, fallen to their lowest levels since crop year 1972. feed grains, cotton, and tobacco, to Western Europe continued to fall in FY 1986 but at a slower rate than in previous years.
