No 312550, Miscellaneous Publications from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service
Abstract:
Excerpts from the Introduction: With the expansion of rural area development programs, there has been an increased demand for information with respect to previous research in various fields related to rural development. One of these fields is migration, and this bibliography was prepared as a source of information on published research for persons interested in the volume, pattern, and composition of the migration of farm people. References cover various approaches to the study of this demographic process. Some of the listings reveal the selectivity in migration by examining the characteristics of migrants, such as sex, color, age, education, etc., while others measure the extent and effects of migration. In general, items are grouped according to the geographic area to which the data relate. References are arranged alphabetically by author within each major heading.
