Abstract:
Significant papers on environmental pollution together with following critiques, delivered at the 1970 National Agricultural Outlook Conference by representatives from Government and the academic community, are reproduced. The problems discussed include pollution from land, air, and water wastes; the responsibilities of the Government in establishing pollution control standards; agriculture's part in environmental pollution; and the responsibilities of industry, agriculture, and the general public in bringing about an improvement in the quality of the environment. The speakers stressed the need for formulating and carrying out measures for pollution control, and the outlook for the coming years.
