Selected U.S. Crop Budgets: Yields, Inputs, and Variable Costs, Volume V, South Central States

Abstract: This report contains estimates of variable costs of producing major crops in 15 production areas in the South Central region of the United States. Crops include cotton, wheat, grain sorghum, forage sorghum, soybeans, oats, barley, alfalfa, and rice. Budgets show the quantity and value of specific preharvest and harvest inputs, total preharvest costs per acre planted, and total variable costs per acre planted. Detailed breakdowns of crop yields and rates of fertilization are also included.
