Abstract:
Excerpts from the report: This circular aims to show the application to farm-management and cost-of-production data, of methods of analysis developed in other lines of research, for the specific purpose of giving quantitative expression to the relationships of the widely variable characteristics so frequently observed. The devices employed are, essentially, checks on the validity of conclusions which seem to be warranted by the body of data understudy, as a result of the customary steps of analysis of which grouping and averaging are the first. They may also be considered as measures or checks on the amount of divergence of the data at hand from generally accepted principles. In either case, the process of analysis throws a spot light on the entire situation and factors often otherwise obscure are brought out.
