World Indices of Agricultural and Food Production, 1976-85

Abstract: Indices of total and per capita agricultural and food production for 1976-85 al1d production data for 1976-85 are presented for 111 countries, 12 regions, and the world. Production and food indices are calculated using Laspeyres' base-weighted aggregate formula. Selected production data are given in 1,000 metric tons by country. World agricultural production grew at a compound annual rate of 2.1 percent since 1916, while the rate on a per capita basis was only 0.4 percent.
