No 276842, Staff Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: This report presents preliminary estimates for a selection of variables from the National Rural Community Facilities Assessment Study (NRCFAS), a nationwide sample survey of the availability and condition of essential public facilities in rural America. The variables were chosen to indicate the availability of facilities in rural America; in a few cases, data reflecting facility condition are also reported. Included in this report are data collected by survey for public water supply, fire protection, and local roads and bridges. The report also contains national estimates for wastewater treatment, hospital, and nursing home facilities drawn from secondary data sources.
