Abstract: State-level cost-of-production estimates are particularly important in extension research. Official USDA estimates at the State level have not been available previously due to conceptual and methodological changes made 3 years ago. The costs and returns in this report are consistent with regional and national weighted averages published each year in Economic Indicators of the Farm Sector: Costs of Production. The estimates are preliminary and subject to Later revision.
