Abstract: This report contains papers and discussions presented at the Economic Research Service meeting in Washington, D.C., October 17-18, 1985. This meeting focused on rural economic goals, market linkages with metro, national, and international economies, and the Federal Government's role in rural labor markets. Researchers and academicians presented different views on economic needs of employment and policy for rural areas.
