Karen Liu and Ralph Seeley

No 277930, Staff Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service

Abstract: This report contains papers presented at the December 1985 meeting of the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The program theme of this meeting focused on the current practice and future research agenda of agricultural trade modeling. The report discusses and illustrates some major existing agricultural trade models by exercising them on a common set of scenarios. Comparison of the results from existing models can serve as a guide to the future improvement of trade models. The report also explores research issues that need to be addressed in future trade modeling work in the area of government policies and macro linkages to agricultural trade.
