Abstract: This databook and its complementary diskettes, which must be ordered separately, bring together a collection of employment and unemployment statistics that are useful for monitoring economic conditions and change in nonmetro and metro areas of the United States. The data for 1969-86 are compiled from county estimates developed by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The databook also contains background information on what the statistics measure, how they are estimated, and how the BEA and BLS numbers differ.
