Estimating the Offsite Household Damages From Wind Erosion in the Western United States

Abstract: Wind erosion contributes significantly to particulate air pollution in some regions of the Western United States. As a result, wind erosion imposes damages on households in the form of increased interior and exterior cleaning, reduced recreational opportunities, and impaired health. Costs are difficult to estimate because of limited data availability. However, damages appear to be much larger offsite than onsite.
