Enrollment in Use Value Assessment Programs in the United States

Abstract: Data showing estimated enrollments in State and local programs which provide a use-value assessment for farmland were summarized. About 450,000 owners, with holdings made up of farmland only, knowingly receive property tax relief under such a program. These owners control 8 percent of the Nation*s farmland base.
