Household Food Consumption Patterns in the United States

Abstract: Household income, size, composition, location of residence, race, education, and employment status determine the percentage of income a household spends for food. This study develops a model that measures and reveals relationships among these household characteristics. The model can be applied to predict future shifts in consumer demand for food pricing and consumption movements.
