David Debertin () and Garnett L. Bradford

No 158516, Staff Papers from University of Kentucky, Department of Agricultural Economics

Abstract: This paper examines some of the historical trends in the evolution of research using econometrics, simulation, and operations research within agricultural economics. Agricultural economists are placing increased emphasis on economic theory and on increasingly sophisticated quantitative techniques. Implications of these trends for the future of agricultural economics research are discussed.
