No 13665, Staff Papers from University of Minnesota, Department of Applied Economics
Abstract:
My paper is divided in two parts. In the first I will attempt to provide a brief overview of the world food situation, with an emphasis on what has happened during the 1970's - the decade when many observers thought we were headed for a Malthusian crisis. In the second part I will discuss the factors likely to affect the world food situation in the 1980's and beyond.
